Hello everyone!!!

My name is Clayton, and I am the owner and founder of Hox3D LLC. I am currently a graduate student at the University of California, San Diego, studying for my M.S. in Controls and Mechatronics.

I started Hox3D during my summer break after graduating from high school in 2021. It all began when I was looking for ways to bring in extra income to help pay for my upcoming tuition bills. On top of applying for scholarships and working for my uncle, I felt I could be doing more to get ahead of the game.

At the same time, my room was cluttered with LEGO® sets, and my RC car was taking up a lot of space in the garage. I decided to make a mount for my Traxxas X-Maxx and a few of my LEGO® sets using my 3D printer to save some surface space. After designing, printing, and hanging them on the wall, I was blown away by how much of a difference it made — and how awesome they looked! That was the moment I thought, “I got it, I’m going to sell these wall mounts!” And boom, I found my new endeavor.

From there, I spent weeks designing and printing prototypes, testing my mounts, finding their weaknesses, and making sure they would make other people happy. My goal was, and still is, to send customers the best quality mounts possible so they can enjoy seeing their favorite sets and RC cars displayed on the wall, just like I do.

I started selling my mounts on Etsy in June of 2021, and at the time, Hox3D was named HoxCorp3D because I thought it sounded cool and professional. After my mounts began to gain traction and customers started requesting more designs, I realized that what I was doing was working. I used the money I made to buy another 3D printer, and since then, Hox3D has continued to grow.

As my Etsy shop got close to 1,000 sales, I decided it was time to build my own website and form an LLC. I also realized that saying “HoxCorp3D” was a little complicated, so I changed the name to Hox3D to make it simpler and easier to say.

Hox3D has now surpassed 14,000 sales across storefronts, and I can’t thank my customers enough for their support over the years. Knowing that I have sent thousands of mounts to customers all over the globe brings me so much joy. I am truly grateful for every customer who has trusted my mounts and helped support my college journey.

Hox3D LLC is something I am very proud of. I love that I was able to combine my passions for CAD design, 3D printing, LEGO®, and RC cars, and turn them into something that helps me pay for my education. Also, now my mom accepts that I have a valid excuse to buy more LEGO®!
